^^matt01: Just because YOU may not know Katey Sagal, that doesn't mean "nobody outside North America" has never heard of her. She spent 11 seasons as Peg Bundy on "Married with Children" (in fact, that's the picture used for her), a show which has aired in its original form--typically dubbed, but frequently just subtitled--in countries like Bulgaria, Brazil, Israel, Poland and Turkey. And, as the voice of Turanga Leela on "Futurama," her voice (and name) may be familiar in English-speaking countries around the world at the very least (and may be familiar in non-English-speaking countries to fans who watch the DVDs, presented in English with local-language subtitles--much as diehard anime fans in the US frequently prefer the original Japanese language versions with subtitles over the often poorly-dubbed versions).
And for someone who criticizes Spelling, Sagal, Sajak and Somers' inclusion on this quiz (for what it's worth, I've got a feeling that a lot of non-North Americans know who Suzanne Somers is), I find it funny that you have an opinion of Jon Stewart. Why would non-North Americans not know the first four but WOULD know who Jon Stewart is? It's not like Stewart's regular gig is something that would play well in Japan, South Africa, Brazil or Italy (except to really die-hard political junkies). |
