Having read "The Story of Ferdinand" many times as a child was very helpful on this quiz! :)

I knew what the #1 answer was. So, the stragegy was to name all the closest countries around it.

I had no idea about any of the answers, so I just guessed. In the first minute, I got none. Then I miraculously guessed one, and I got all the rest in twenty seconds.

After getting the European ones I figured they were all Mediterranean, but for the life of me I could not guess the ones in Africa. I tried Libya and Egypt then gave up. xD

Similar to chriskotx - the #2 answer was my first try, and then I just circled around it.

First thing that popped up in my head was Ireland.

@MePerson: I was the opposite - for some reason I didn't think that cork grew in European countries, so I only got the African ones!

Knew nothing about cork, strategy was to choose countries from around the world until i hit one...then name all the ones near it with a similar climate...nearly missed the last one, but got there in the end!

I did well by thinking of wine countries, of course it didn't work for the North African countries.

Somehow this reminds me of the fake posh Italian expression "Spiralo al corco del vino" for cork screw some people had during my later school years... damn, the inconceivably lame jokes from your youth really stick in your mind, don't they?
