Personally, I think that's a poor picture for wrote. The focus is on the pen, not on the writing itself.

Never heard of Choate - Google tells me it's some boarding school in the US, and only part of its name at that. Far too obscure. Also not keen on the picture for tote. I've heard the expression 'tote bag', but never 'tote' on its own to mean a bag.

I like the idea for this quiz! Unfortunately, I've never heard of shoat, Choate, groat, stoat, or cote.

Keep at least groat and stoat, and maybe put (dove) in front of cote.

@Triffid Choate Rosemary Hall is a prestigious prep school in the US, and it is always referred to as just "Choate" but I had to show you part of its full name because you'd never recognize buildings on it. I would gladly replace it with another DOTE rhyme, to keep it a rectangle, but there was nothing else. I think of these quizzes as learning opportunities. Plus, these words appear in crosswords all the time if you like word puzzles.

Well, you could have a mote, but that might be too small to see.

Who else knew "stoat" from The Simpsons?
