| @cocky the roosterman: There is, in fact, a DIII for hockey. At one time all three divisions sponsored hockey but DII got collapsed into DI, which is why you have teams like Alabama-Huntsville playing DI.
Interestingly enough, the Alaska schools are DI in about half the sports they sponsor. Alaska-Fairbanks is DI in hockey, skiing, and rifle. Alaska-Anchorage is DI in hockey, skiing, and gymnastics. However, the litmus test is basketball, for which they are both DII. |
