The letter 'k' owes a debt of gratitude to Oceanic fauna.

Thank you for accepting "kingfisher!" I probably wouldn't have gotten kookaburra. Great quizzes, btw.

guess I'll dissent from hyrax & keena....I think accepting kingfisher is being a little too generous. Very nice, though!

@acbc66 A kookaburra is a type of kingfisher. I have to accept kingfisher.

I thought I was finally going to get a perfect, then got to that not-khaki kolored kap at the end. I probably spent too much time looking at the bare knee. Anyway, I got a prediction right: on the J quiz, I predicted Joey's mom would be here.

@DerekH - Looking at your avatar, it seems you are from Scotland. BUt it amazes me that you know what Hershey's is but you don't know a Hersey's Kiss. If they don't sell Kisses in Scotland, than you are missing out on what is Hershey's most popular confectionery (next to a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup).

Yes, I'm from Scotland, and I've heard of Hershey's but don't know their individual lines. Similarly, I've heard of baseball, but couldn't name any current players... ;-)

kingfisher worked for kookaburra, I think that's the culprit for that.

@Sixtytwobobs It used to be a picture of a kepi (a type of hat), and only 7% of people had gotten it so I replaced it with something more gettable, Kentucky.

@TigerRockets: Maybe i'm missing the joke, but I see 3 Aussie-specific things and 1 New Zealand specific thing. It seems like both countries are well represented by our dear friend, the letter K.

That komes from the fakt that the English language (generally speacing) prefers its "c" for the "k" sound and so relies heavily on more recently imported words. If I'm not mistaken, 10 are kulturally foreign to the English language.

I am now wondering exactly what the difference is (if any) between "kebabs" and "shishkebabs" (what I've always called them; the only one that hung me up for a few seconds).

Kick a kettle, kite, and a king's kerchoo. GET OUT OF MY BRAIN, DOCTOR SEUSS. Also, I was really angry by the third time I typed Kyrgyzstan, accentuating each letter, and it didn't pay off with an answer.

Drat, those darn kookaburras. I would have had a perfect score, but noooooo... I see most people missed "keystone". Since I live in Pennsylvania, nicknamed, "The Keystone State", I got that one.

@BonnieH: Kebab is the Armenian term for any grilled meat, while shish kebab refers to meat that's skewered. English being what it is, we just use the "kebab" part.

Kentucky was confusing, I thought the blue surroundings meant island, so I way typing islands, Kiribati, Key West, Key Largo...none of them worked out.
