Enter an answer in the box below
Correctly named answers will show up below
If your obvious answer isn't working, you probably have to be more specific. For example, INSECT is too general; you need to identify the specific INSECT in the photo.

For some reason, "ice pick" does not work as two words.

@Chromatos. Weird, sometimes Sporcle has issues with spaces. I made sure now it works both with and without the space.

Please accept "Ice Cube" for the first column, second image down. He was originally in the NWA with Eazy-E and Dr. Dre, both of whom drove a '64 Chevy Impala. Totally qualifies. Also accept "Ira" for the infant because that kid looks like this guy I went to high school with.

You should accept incisor for ivory, since elephant tusks are modified incisors.

I think I would have only gotten indigo if it were a picture of an old fashioned indigo blue patterened dress. That's the only context I remember having heard that word. Maybe a picture of dark blue denim would have done it as well.

I'm quite surprised that more people got 'isobars' than 'iodine.' I'd think that iodine would be much better known, whereas isobars are a pretty unusual technical term.

For 'isobar' I kept trying to think of some Canadian slang for a storm...since it's a low pressure over Canada. Clearly I'm overanalyzing things

@GilaB, I was one that got isobars and not iodine. Agree iodine is better known, but I can't say I've ever seen any, at least not for 40 years.

Great fun! Might want to reduce the time by a minute (I finished with 2:58 left, but that's much nicer than running short, as my brain usually locks up in the last 10 seconds or so.)

Surprised so many people are getting first row, second column. Even after seeing what it was, it took looking at the image for a few seconds to see it. But, then again, I don't play golf.

@mingwyatt i've never heard the term inchworm in my life, I didn't get either but at least ibis is an actual name rather than a type of caterpillar (how anyone would care enough to distinguish them is beyond me)

@Sopz: An inchworm is a special type of caterpillar. Most species of caterpillars crawl like centipedes, millipedes or snakes. Inchworms (aka loopers or spanworms) move in a kind of looping, Slinky-like motion as the image shows. Most other caterpillars don't move like that.
For what it's worth, there's also a song called "Inchworm" that was popularized in the 1952 Danny Kaye film "Hans Christian Andersen." It features an arithmetic chorus where a group of children are singing "Two and two are four/Four and four are eight/Eight and eight are sixteen/Sixteen and sixteen are thirty-two."

Not wishing to moch(a) Zak or Matt, but maybe if the pen had a cap(puccino) on it it would be clearer ?!

@niques - the ornithological term is Scarlet Ibis. I didn't get inchworm either. I'm familiar with the Danny Kaye song but I'd no idea it was a type of caterpillar.

In preschool, I was taught the hard 'i' sound with the animal 'ibex', and I've remembered it ever since, thus getting in the quiz. Annoying that I didn't get inchworm, which is the animal I was taught to remember the soft 'i' sound with!
