| It's your quiz, but I disagree with drawing an equivalence between 'Ike' and 'Abe.' 'Ike,' as with JFK and LBJ and FDR, entered circulation primarily because of newspaper headlines. And so, Ike was regularly used in that fashion, and thus has a certain formality to it, even if a nickname. 'Abe' was not, nor was 'Jack' for JFK, nor was 'Frank' for FDR and so on and so forth. |
