| bmo1616, I'd certainly argue that we know more about other countries' sports, most notably Spain, than Americans do about any other country. The reason the majority of British people don't care about basketball, NFL, baseball or ice hockey is simply that they find them boring, as do most of the world, hence their lack of popularity outside North America. English football (it's not soccer, and certainly it's not the 'EPL') is by far the most widely watched league of any sport in the world and in addition to this we have rugby, cricket, golf, darts and more, so there's no real need to branch out and watch sports that seem to be there for no reason more than to provide an opportunity to pause the game for advertising. |
