	@Sharon That's because alphabetizing ignored "the" at the beginning of things, but I've changed it to being just GAMBIA; however, that makes it GAM and Gabon is GAB but now Thailand is much harder because you only get the TH. And now another set of people will complain that "TH" should be "The Gambia."

	This quiz has me thinking of everything but the actual countries. POR is Portland, MAC is Macau, GUA is Guam, VE is Venice, CHA is Charlotte, TRI is Tripoli, and so on...got me all messed up.

	@Elgin_McQueen 'US', 'UK', and 'DRC' all have at least some connection to the sets of letters that form those particular clues. 'Ivory Coast', apart from not being the country's name, bears no relation to the clue 'COT'. It's a word-based quiz. @sharon The trend these days is towards dropping definite articles from country names that used to be referred to with them in English. Thus, now it's more commonly just 'Gambia', 'Lebanon', 'Ukraine', etc. ...One more point: why is 'Rep Congo' accepted for 'REP', while 'Dem Rep Congo' isn't accepted for 'DEM'? Otherwise, an excellent and challenging quiz; kudos.

	Assuming the standard conversion of 5 characters = 1 word, you need to be able to type at 36 WPM to finish this quiz.

	Elgin McQueen, it's true it's common Sporcle standards, but this is a quiz based on word beginnings. If you are already familiar with the name "Cote Divoire", obviously that's gonna be the name registering in your brain when you see "COT", no possible reason to go out of your way to type the other. Plus, it's not an acronym or shortcut like the ones you mentioned, it's a name that takes just as long to type. And seeing as "Ivory Coast" does not start with COT so there would be little reason to go out of your way.
