@tomahaha Actually, that photo is a publicity still from the original "The Bob Newhart Show" which was a sketch comedy show that aired in 1961 only. It took me three days of online searching to find that, since almost every picture comes from his much later (non-winning) show where he played Dr. Robert Hartley.

Things I learned during this quiz: 1. The Monkees won an Emmy. 2. The show between Get sSmart and AITF existed. 3. Sex and the City was a comedy, don't have HBO and never saw it.

The Arrested Development picture is pretty small and was hard to make out.

I'm surprised Two and a Half Men, That 70's Show, Growing Pains, Diff'rent Strokes, the Jeffersons, etc never won emmys

Could've sworn that the pic of Jack Benny was Bob Hope.

@budd That's actually a very famous picture of a young Johnny Carson appearing on the Jack Benny Show (with him giving him advice).

I never realized Sex and the City was a comedy. The few moments I've ever seen of that show were about as unfunny as possible.

Delighted to see "My World and Welcome To It" in a quiz. I remember that show fondly. It was very creative, charming, funny. If memory serves it used the humor of James Thurber. I had no idea it had won an Emmy for best comedy.

As a youngster, I had a HUGE crush on Lisa Gerritsen, who played the daughter on "My World and Welcome To It." She later played Phyllis' daughter on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show." Another daughter role for her, a continued crush for me.

first picture, last row: I stared at that for about 20 second thinking "that sort of looks like Matt LeBlanc, and that guy looks like David Schwinner ... I wonder what show they were in before ..oh" Not a great thinking moment for me.

Anybody know why "My World and Welcome to It" was cancelled after one season, despite winning the Emmy?

At first glance, I thought the Wonder Years photo was the final part of the Growing Pains opening. On closer inspection, I recognized Dan Lauria.

Things I have learned from this quiz: 1)The show between GS and AITF existed. 2) Northern Exposure did not win an Emmy for Best Comedy. 3)After some checking, I realize the Northern Exposure was nominated for Best Drama not Comedy, which was weird. NOrthern Exposure was far funnier than Sex in the City.

@WCRoentgen: Maybe it has to do with why Arrested Development got canceled right after becoming one of the best shows of all time.

My World and Welcome to It was a terrific show that was based on the humor of James Thurber. I've seen three reasons for its cancellation:the animation was too expensive, the ratings weren't good enough, and the network wanted room for Red Skelton.

Not at all old enough to guess the first row except for 'I Love Lucy' , though I did recognize Carson, but had no idea that was Benny. Spelled every variation of Monkee except the right one!

SPOILER: who knew that there were 2 "The Bob Newhart show"s. I admit that I recognized and looked up William Windom to get the least guessed one. Yes to those of you earlier commenters.. Lisa G was cute and I had a crush on her too.

I too loved My World and Welcome To It and didn't know it had won an Emmy. I wish it could be seen somewhere in syndication but there probably weren't enough episodes to warrant that. It was ahead of its time for sure. Thanks for including it.

I guess I never paid enough attention, because I wouldn't have called "The Wonder Years" a comedy. It always seemed like it was a straight drama, at least in my memories of the show.
