HAL (his, arg, lys) can be protonated; the acids (asp, glu) can be deprotonated; proline's weird; threonine's serine on drugs; the VW FAMILY (Valine, Tryptophan, Phenylalanine, Alanine, Methionine, Isoleucine, Leucine, and Tyrosine) are nonpolar; glycine's special; asn and gln are just asp and glu with amines instead of hydroxyls; and my personal favorite: arginine is Larginine, as it has one of the largest side chains (length-wise). |
