Doodgle: Yes. Most of the best Sporcle quizmasters do that. Good quiz. For some reason I thought John Candy was an SNLer.

@ambition I added John Candy as a bonus as he is the only deceased member of the cast of SCTV (Second City Television) which is pretty much the source of all the other comedians in North America. I'm also glad to report that all 5 Kids in the Hall are alive and well.

Man, I thought Mr. Mike was going to be Jim Henson (though he died in 1990), as the Muppets were on the show for the first few months.

Michael O'Donoghue was never a cast member, just a writer.

@NormC Actually, he was a cast member, as well as a writer, and then after a few episodes only wrote, but he was definitely considered to be a member of the "Not Ready for Prime Time Players." @caramba I added Jim Henson as a bonus, since it was his muppets not him that were on those first few episodes.

@sdc: Andy was never a castmember. He is, along with John Candy and Jim Henson, a bonus answer though.

After I answered the 4 I knew I guessed Garrett Morris and felt so guilty about thinking he might be dead that I had to give up and reveal the other three...lol. Superstitious much?

Really miss Phil Hartman. They called him The Glue as he held most of the sketches together. Caveman Lawyer was one of the great SNL characters!

I voted you up, DanTravers, in the hopes of offsetting all the comment nazis around here. I do that a lot, actually.

I came to say that I miss Phil Hartman, too, and I'm pleasantly surprised to see someone beat me to it. He was a comedic genius, a rare talent, and it always seems as if he's in the shadow of more popular names.

Considering that Garrett Morris is well into his 70s, I don't think anyone needs to feel TOO guilty for questioning whether he's still alive or not.

seeing as the Not Ready for Prime Time Players only referred to Chase, Aykroyd, Belushi, Curtain, Radner, Murray, Morris and Laraine Newman.. plus George Coe, Michael O'Donoghue, Father Guido Sarducci (don novello) and Franken/Davis this quiz has only two answers: Belushi and O'Donoghue.

@Grunt2009: In addition to not being able to read quiz descriptions, I guess you can't spell Jane Curtin's last name correctly either. What CAN you do that is productive around here?

Would love to see Buckwheat as a bonus answer, due of course to his "assassination" following his SNL appearance. "Buckwheat Dead: America Mourns"

Michael O'Donoghue was SNL's first head writer and an occasional on-camera performer but never a full-fledged member of the cast. Take it from someone who just read two huge books on the history of SNL ("A Backstage History of SNL" and "Live From New York"). O'Donoghue was a huge part of SNL history, but a cast member he wasn't.

Michael O'Donoghue was credited as a member of the Not Ready For Primetime Players during the opening in the first episode as well as in episodes 3 and 4. It's wasn't very long, but O'Donoghue was a cast member.
