	Hey, that was fun and challenging. Took a minute to figure out what the heck I was doing. Don't get the "dart" one. Egg and dart is a kind of molding.... I never DID know what kind of creature that Seuss animal was. I do remember the picture with all the spots on him...

	The "star closest to mercury" one was tricky. Mostly because the answer is in Latin.

	@Bobman1: Apparently dart and it's partner are used in Penrose tiling. What's surprising to me is the scores aren't lining up. You'd think if 33% got one answer, the associated two would also get 33%, but that's not the case. I wonder if it's because of not fully grasping the gimmick or a time factor...

	Quite creative. It will not receive a high rating because so many people are getting only half or fewer of the answers, but the very flat histogram is actually indicative of a good, challenging but not impossible quiz. There are few answers that are so easy that nearly everyone gets them, and few that are so hard that almost nobody does; that's an uncommon achievement.

	Absolutely brilliant. However,I'd also question the description "small hawk" for a kite; only a few subspecies are under 50 cm.(a foot and a half) in length. Would love more quizzes like this one.

	Hey All: Yes, Up was co-released as a Disney Pixar film, since it owns them. Kites are defined by Merriam-Webster as "any of various usually small HAWKS (family Accipitridae) with long narrow wings and often a notched or forked tail." And Nerds are a candy sold under the Willy Wonka brand. The notes in solfege [do, re, mi...] the note is usually SOL but can be just so. This was meant do be a challenging quiz, so it wasn't supposed to be easy to find all three once you found the first one. That's why I tried to pick simple words with some very complicated meanings. The

	We have Dove soap also. Does the Dove chocolate and chocolate- coated ice cream not make it to the UK? That would be sad. A life without a Dove bar is empty indeed (or stinky, depending on the bar).

	zamboni - sadly not - the only kind of Dove bar we have here is of the soap variety ... moisturising but not so tasty ;o) (disclaimer - I have not made an exhaustive search of every shop in the entire country, this statement is only based on personal experinces!)

	@ahh: 'The Sound of Music' always messes me up with that. It is actually 'sol' but since it's followed by 'la' you typically can't hear the 'l' ("assimilation").

	They do sing 'so' (or soh) in The Sound of Music - it's the anglicised version of 'sol' which is used in the original solfege system.

	@Riko: it can be either so or sol, and differs between different solfege traditions — that may well have originated in assimilation from la as you say, but both are now quite acceptable. @sproutcm: re kite, Merriam-Webster is (as often in technical areas) a bit out of step with modern usage; something like “a medium-sized raptor” would be a more accurate definition. But “small hawk” is close enough that anyone birdy enough to quibble over the details should be able to get it :-)

	Okay. Been googling. Kites(accipitridae)is a large group of predatory birds ranging from the tiny Pearl Kite( 25 cm.)(smaller than a kestrel)to the Red Kite, brought back from near-extinction in the UK (for extra good reason: it is gorgeous, with a wingspan of nearly 6 feet) That's bigger than any small hawk. So we both seem to be right. Thanks for the motivation to learn about this marvellous raptor.

	In the UK Dove (the confectionery brand) is called Galaxy. There are both chocolate and ice-cream products. I wonder whether there is or was a product called 'Galaxy Dove' because that phrase jumped into my mind reading this thread, and I don't think I knew that just Dove was the brand in the rest of the world. Also, did someone fix the clue from 'chocolate bar' to 'ice cream bar' following the comment about Mars? Because there's also a Mars ice cream bar. I had no clue about a lot of the popular culture ones - am I too old or too British?
