	Illinois does not border Michigan. Michigan does not border Minnesota and Illinois. Minnesota does not border Michigan. The quiz is correct.

	@BiloxiSean I guess it depends what side of the Mississippi River you're on. I took this quiz in Missouri, and the only time I went past the river was the third one.

	I discovered what's likely obvious, that to succeed on this one you really need to have the relative geographical positions of the states clear in your mind. Otherwise, frantic guessing...

	Sporcle admin - How can you justify publishing a quiz without listing a source? It's a great quiz and I enjoyed it, but it seems it me it fails to reinforce the importance of providing a valid source. @Endsail raises a good point regarding their importance.

	@minnmich @Endsail Well, I wrote this quiz and I didn't feel it needed a source as I used several, including the one you listed above, and several sites that used that to do data analysis on, and well, I really just looked at a map after and I counted by hand to make sure. I'll add the reference now so people can read it for themselves, or buy a map.

	I think listing all the answers and/or allowing skipping questions makes this quiz a little easy. I only did the first four "fairly", then I resorted to simply guessing an unlisted state in each of the remaining blanks until I finished the quiz.

	Clearly the problem is whether you define rivers and lakes as borders. Such is the case of Michigan/Illinois and MIchigan/Minnesota.

	@luna_lovegood1: In a world where water borders count as borders. The quiz didn't specify a source so... who's to say which definition of "border" is being used? And like "gellchom" said, if a river border counts, then why not a lake? On Google Maps for example, state borders extend right out into the Great Lakes.

	^Several states don't have clothing tax. I know New Jersey doesn't (along with an assortment of other things - medicine, unprepared food, some paper stuff) which is probably why we've got so many malls. When I was looking at it, I at first got the two columns mixed up and was completely dumbfounded in trying to find a state with fourteen border states. I was sure the quiz was a joke...until I read the directions.

	I never say this...except this once. This quiz needs to be dropped to a minute. Even my geography-inept brother-in-law got 9 out of 9, and there's no way he could get all 9 without simple guessing.

	sproutcm, and others, Michigan does share a border with Minnesota and Illinois, as GeoFan1 correctly pointed out. sproutcm, you wroted that "I really just looked at a map...and I counted by hand to make sure", but you clearly missed the Michigan-Minnesota border and the Michigan-Illinois border. Furthermore, if you don't count these borders, I don't know how you would consider that Iowa borders Nebraska, for example.
