| Alex - As I understand it after studying abroad in Spain, both "mañana" and "madrugada" can be used for time to mean morning, but "madrugada" is when it is still dark outside. So when you come back from partying, it is "tres de la madrugada" but when you wake up, it is "diez de la mañana." Hope that helps. I agree with others that "amanecer" and "alba" are both better terms for dawn. |
