@Megan: I live in Peru, and have only seen it as setiembre. My husband, who only speaks Spanish, used to correct me for trying to throw the 'p' in there when I would speak. Most Spanish dictionaries show it with both spellings.

I live in Argentina, and I can tell you that "Setiembre"
is
correct. Even the
Real Academia EspaƱola
accepts both.

took spanish for 11 years (first through 11th grade), wouldn't have gotten half if it wasn't for my junior year teacher drilling us all the time
