| Great quiz, soxfan1! I just want to slightly clarify a few things you said in your last post, for those not familiar with the electoral college system. The total number of electoral votes divvied up among the states (and D.C.) is currently 538, but that number isn't set in stone. The formula, as prescribed by the Constitution, (# of senators) + (# of representatives) + (3 for D.C.). Since each state gets 2 senators, the number of senators changes as states get added. Also, the number of representatives in the House is not fixed and has changed several times in the past (although not for a long while). This is why 2/3 of the answers are from the 20th century and on. |
