38/42. I don't think I'm gong to do any better than that since it would require typing in names like Sao Tome and Principe, Liechtenstein and the like.

A bunch of these countries have such long freakin names. Overcompensating for something?

This would work better as a two-minute quiz as there are many countries to type in (some with long names).

This might be more workable with some of the abbreviations tahitiwahini has been promoting recently, it would make it possible to win!

Agree with the others... it's physically impossible to type them all in 60 seconds. I type 90 wpm and was only able to get 35 or so after 3 attempts.

41 question in 2 minutes? That's like 20 questions a minute - time is ridiculous even for a blitz. You should make the game winnable without looking at a list of countries.

@aaaaaandrew: That is because of the "ignore a, and, the" setting. Only "and" has to be separated (to make handball different from hball) in this case, the best way is to just leave it out, "stkittsnevis" will work fine.

I was slightly disappointed that the Principality of Sealand didn't make it.... though it isn't a real country.

It's a great quiz - but the timing, considering the length of certain names is honestly a bit TOO short - I would have gotten all had I had time, but this does require 20 names per minute or 3 seconds for every name (actually slightly less as there are 41 not 40) That's pretty fast typing. While I admit that misspelling Palau and Nauru and having to retype each slowed me a bit, I still think that 2:00 is really a trifle... ambitious... making it more a typing speed quiz than a geography quiz. Still, a good topic and good quiz, thank you!

@Bober: According to the CIA and a July 2011 census, Qatar has a population of 848,016.

Might work well as a minefield (with plenty of time) where you're stopped if you enter a country from say rank 42 to 75 maybe?

Okay, all the tiny European vest-pocket "countries?" check. 6-8 caribbean and South pacific island nations? Check. What, there are like 25 more? Sheesh! Including some actual, bonafide, countries like Iceland and Belize. Hard to believe. Loved the quiz, some more time would help. I'd never get em all, but 25/40 would have been within reach.

Time is just right for those who already know all the countries of the world off pat and have idled away untold hours on population quizzes - and can spell - and can type fast. Nice quiz!

20/41, deffo needs one more minute or something the time is way to short. And Qatar has 1.8 million people, how on earth does that fit under 1m?!

The Qatar situation is strange, the CIA has them at 800K and their own 2010 census has them at 1.7 million. Pretty big disparity there I think.
