Was surprised not to see Irod, Thome or Suppan on there. Guess they're late 30s. Weird to see how the 2 Phillies on this list played huge parts in them winning the World Series last year and how the Rays, who are known for their youth, have 3 players on this.

the next oldest guys who just missed the list were Griffey, Mariano Rivera, Takashi Saito & Matt Herges. Griffey & Rivera each turn 40 next month. Thome is 39, he was close too.

I was going to say you should add Dave Roberts as a bonus question - he wasn't on any roster, but he was on the Giants' payroll to the tune of $6.5 million dollars. But then I checked and he's actually only 37. I thought he was like 41 by now - he certainly played like it his last couple of seasons! Still, you've otta love Brian Sabean's free agent signings.
