Cool quiz, though you need to drop the clock from twelve minutes to, oh, five or six. Alas, my alma mater is only the second-best B.

Got all but Z; still haven't heard of it, either. Great quiz.

Took a while to realise you only meant Universities in the US as the title doesn't say that.

I think I disagree on the time limit -- I could have used a couple of extra minutes.

I'm not sure that I like not counting "University" as part of the name... I and K are examples here, and I was really confused when U Penn wasn't the answer for U.

Maybe this is obvious, but how did you pick the "best ranked" for the "non-ranked" letters?

Thanks for the support and feedback. As for unranked letters, I first used tiers, but for Q and Z i picked the most (admittedly not much) recognizable universities. I know its not a perfect system, but i thought itd be fun to have all the letters. :)

It really should say U.S. universities. I'm from the U.S., but was very confused when Oxford wasn't the correct answer for O.

University is spelled wrong in Johns Hopkins University. You have "Univeristy".

What is this: the instructions to this quiz read: "Enter an university . . ." Didn't nobody at Sporcle go to school and learn their ABCs?

I don't really like how the word "University" is ignored in the names. That's part of the name! University of Chicago should be listed over Utah.

Fun quiz. Some surprises - got stuck on C, thinking it must be Cornell or Columbia - but good for CalTech beating out the Ivies.

Actually, The_Goat, I though your post was funny, so I gave you the opposite. This was a good quiz, and I can understand not wanting the "U" to stand for University - I just think it's funny how so many of the top level universities start with the same letters (C, D, V, M)

@The_Goat: I believe people who are good enough to get in will not only waste huge amount of money but also their time. My dustman has a degree in politics. I know many people who are studying literature and also art. For what? A huge debt.

can't believe i missed Duke, stuck thinking about what could beat Dartmouth, and what could possibly be ahead of Cornell and Columbia. Also, typed in Ohio St and didn't get credit. Hmmmm!!

@GeordieGuitarist: Many of these schools have tremendous departments in business, natural/physical sciences, engineering, etc.
