For the sake of this quiz, 'Band' means any music group consisting of 2 or more members. (You can't really divide a solo act, can you?)

It's actually Limp Bizkit.
Jan 1st, 2013 at 14:06 GMT
@thomasdim95: Bizkit corrected, thanks.
Jan 1st, 2013 at 15:41 GMT
Bad English is a band as well. Switch out Bad Company or Modern English to avoid confusion.
Jan 1st, 2013 at 16:12 GMT
@DCee: Good catch, I swapped out Modern English for a different band. Thanks.

Things I learned today: There is no band called 'Cock Pit'.
Jan 1st, 2013 at 17:21 GMT
A vocal group is not a band.
Jan 2nd, 2013 at 12:10 GMT
I'd suggest taking out The The too - you've got The Jam, The Music, and The Beat there at least, possibly more.
Jan 2nd, 2013 at 13:24 GMT
Great quiz, nice range of bands. I think I invented some even better new ones in my attempts though...Blind Eyes anyone?
Jan 2nd, 2013 at 14:10 GMT
Tough and good.
Jan 2nd, 2013 at 15:13 GMT
I vote to keep "The The". No other band has "the" as the second word, which was the point of its inclusion. Fortunately for me I was going alphabetically by Column 1 and 75% of options were filled.
Jan 2nd, 2013 at 15:16 GMT
Two possible omissions: "Culture Beat" was a mid-90s Eurodance group, and "Dead Boys" were a 70s punk band featuring the late Stiv Bators.

Stats reveal that less than a third of quiz takers are familiar with Red Rider, Aztec Camera or China Crisis. Wow are you ever in for a treat! Go on YouTube & find "Boy Inside the Man", "Black Man Ray" or "Oblvious", respectively.
Jan 2nd, 2013 at 20:31 GMT
: You've got the last two bands in reverse order - "Oblivious" is an awesome Aztec Camera song. I'm partial to "White Hot" from Red Rider, for it's mercenary imagery.
Jan 2nd, 2013 at 20:34 GMT
I vote to remove "The The", especially since it seems The Jam is much better known than The The in the UK (home country of both bands) and slightly better known than The The in the US (if album chart placement is any indication- it's pretty close either way). Yes, "The The" is the only possibility for the second "The", but not the first, and the implication of the quiz is that each answer on both sides has one unique answer on the other.
Jan 2nd, 2013 at 20:37 GMT
Also, just because that last comment seems disproportionately angry, I would like to point out that it's an excellent and very fun quiz otherwise.
Jan 2nd, 2013 at 20:40 GMT
I must need a new computer. I clicked as fast as I could without even needing to stop and think and couldn't complete the quiz before the time ran out. The quiz kept lagging. There are several answers I knew that I simply never had time to click.
Jan 2nd, 2013 at 22:56 GMT
@rockgolf, come on, come on, China Crisis' Christian is surely superior. And Aztec Camera did a great song on their first album called "We Could Send Letters" - honestly one of the nicest warmest guitar tracks of the 80's.

Looks like someone found my 45 collection.
Jan 3rd, 2013 at 03:08 GMT
To think that up until this point in my life, I thought I could never go wrong with hot fudge.
Jan 3rd, 2013 at 04:04 GMT
Good lord, I can't believe how many of these bands I own at least one album in their catalog. I have too much music. Wonderful quiz...the last 10 standing killed me.
Jan 3rd, 2013 at 20:46 GMT
Red Robin, yuuuum.
Jan 5th, 2013 at 06:05 GMT
Black Crows are a band as well, I missed it because I hadn't noticed "Counting" or "Sabbath" yet.
Jan 5th, 2013 at 14:36 GMT
@bizzlebiz13: That band is called The Black Crowes. Thanks for the feedback.

How do you create a matchtable game?
Jan 6th, 2013 at 01:16 GMT
@snickerdoodle27: Create a 'Clickable' game and under the options tab select the 'Matching' option. Your data will be the items in the left column and the answers will be the items in the right column.
Jan 6th, 2013 at 20:19 GMT
Really enjoyed this quiz :D But One Direction is not a band.
Jan 7th, 2013 at 23:01 GMT
I'm devastated to learn that the Cock Dragons are not a band name.
Jan 8th, 2013 at 12:43 GMT
The 'the' has way to many options. The Jam caught me out.
Jan 8th, 2013 at 23:07 GMT
The The, Duran Duran, and Talk Talk add a little humor to the quiz. And thanks for including China Crisis, one of the great overlooked pop bands.
Jan 9th, 2013 at 16:09 GMT
Yep, I tried "Naked Twins."
Jan 13th, 2013 at 18:39 GMT
@slipkid Thanks so much

I love you! Duran Duran, Scritti Politti, Thompson Twins, Simple Minds! You are awesome.
Jan 16th, 2013 at 15:47 GMT
A little more time and I would have gotten more.
Jan 16th, 2013 at 15:50 GMT
Black Crowes, not Black Crows... Dang it.
Jan 16th, 2013 at 16:08 GMT
good quiz, I learned of bands that i had never heard of. I do wonder why the results page does not indicate the matched pairs with the same % of correctly guessed.
Jan 16th, 2013 at 16:40 GMT
I thought maybe Missing Carpets was a Big Lebowski tribute band
Jan 16th, 2013 at 16:46 GMT
I love the fact there are so many New Wave and college rock bands on here. I've heard of every band on here. When I saw Vanilla on there I immediately looked for Ice on the right side, but then realized that isn't a band.
Jan 16th, 2013 at 16:56 GMT
Good quiz. I thought I was on track, but ended up with a number of them I didn't know. I almost put Black Crows, but caught myself. Very sneaky.
Jan 16th, 2013 at 17:14 GMT
"Homer Simpson, smiling politely."
Jan 16th, 2013 at 17:27 GMT
I knew I'd never heard of a band called Night Rider. I just couldn't help myself.
