I don't think you can say "Uluru (formerly Ayers Rock)"; it's not that one's the current name and the other the former name, but one's the name in the local language and the other that in English. I believe that for official purposes it's known by the dual name "Uluru/Ayers Rock".

The lakes in and around the Great Rift Valley in Africa are also known as the Great Lakes, so that question could be ambiguous.

@tata_ulan: Thanks for that info, I did not know about the Great Lakes around the Great Rift Valley in Africa, of which there appears to be about 20. I have clarified my clue for the North American Great Lakes to "The 5 Great Lakes."
