| Well, even the (online) Catholic Encyclopedia (newadvent.com) makes mistakes... they have "Pontain" instead of "Pontian" in their master list. If you want to make your choices tougher, I'd suggest respelling to "Maurice," "Sebastian," "Fortunatus," "Ignatius," "Aurelius," etc. In an English environment, only the very common (for Popes) or some of the more typically English names get Anglicized from Latin, i.e. Clemens --> Clement, Marcus --> Mark. So while "Donato" would be named thus in an Italian list, he would remain "Donatus" on an English one. Nice quiz, BTW. |
