| Because OSU had better regular season wins. Alabama's best quality wins were over Arkansas and Penn State and not much else, and Penn State was far from anything special. There were 5 good SEC teams this year (4 other than Alabama), they didn't play two of them, and lost to a third. Oklahoma State had quality wins over Oklahoma, Baylor, and Kansas State, which is one more than Bama had. Maybe Arkansas was slightly better than all of those teams, but all of them are better than Penn State. After those top two, Bama's best wins were vs. Auburn, Florida, Mississippi St. and Vanderbilt, and Oklahoma State can match or surpass that with Texas, Texas A&M, Missouri, and Tulsa. |
