Fun Quiz. Good mix of artists.

Nice quiz! I might try to add on 10-15 more to make it a little more challenging :) Some additional ideas: Be Your Own Pet, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Blood Sweat and Tears, Bone Thugs N Harmony, At the Drive In, Days of the New, Eagles of Death Metal, Flight of the Conchords, From Autumn to Ashes, The Get Up Kids, Katrina and the Waves.

Got it with five seconds to spare...blinded by the light...

Five Man Electrical Band, Chairmen of the Board, Earth Wind and Fire, 2 in a Room, 30 Seconds to Mars, Adventures of Stevie V, Artists United Against Apartheid, Curiosity Killed the Cat, Crosby Stills and Nash, Jump N The Saddle, Lords of the Underground, Ready for the World, Sixpence None the Richer, Somethin' For The People, Theory of a Deadman, Voice of the Beehive.
You got enough for a sequel.

Gah, just needed a few more seconds! And for that reason the time is perfect. Great quiz.
Jun 25th, 2012 at 11:43 GMT
@rockgolf: The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Temple Of The Dog, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, ? And The Mysterians, The Black Eyed Peas, The J. Geils Band
Jun 30th, 2012 at 11:58 GMT
I would listen to the stylings of Death Finger Death Disco.

If you like to make non Finns cry, you can always add "Sir Elwoodin hiljaiset värit" in a sequel ;)

I agree with adding more bands. Either that or dropping the time a bit; I finished with over 2 minutes left.
Sep 8th, 2012 at 15:47 GMT
I thought the time was perfect I scrambled with 9 seconds left.
Sep 8th, 2012 at 18:00 GMT
Aww no Explosions in the Sky or Godspeed You Black Emperor, you could probably make a post rock version of this pretty easily actually...
Sep 8th, 2012 at 18:26 GMT
After getting the commonly known ones, I started piecing together words to try to come up with the remaining bands. You end up with some funny stuff this way!
Sep 8th, 2012 at 19:47 GMT
TMBG are in a quiz. YAY!
Sep 8th, 2012 at 19:56 GMT
I thought "Blessid Taste of Death" sounded pretty good!
Sep 8th, 2012 at 19:58 GMT
So 'As I Lay Dawn' isn't a band?

83% got "Panic at the Disco", a band I've never heard of. Looked them up and they've had one song in the top 50. Is this quiz being taken by cult band followers?
Sep 8th, 2012 at 20:26 GMT
katappe- No, Panic at the Disco is mentioned in the blurb on the front page.
Sep 8th, 2012 at 20:55 GMT
What about Earth, Wind and Fire?
Sep 8th, 2012 at 22:09 GMT
This one was great fun. A nice sampling of genres. This is a good one for someone who enjoys a little bit of everything.
Sep 9th, 2012 at 01:45 GMT
Blessid Tribe Of Chipmunks.
Sep 9th, 2012 at 03:07 GMT
Siouxsie and the Banshees would be a great addition.
Sep 9th, 2012 at 06:56 GMT
@ktappe: Well, that's one more Top 50 hit than Old Crow Medicine Show, Bad Rebel Motorcycle Club, Five Finger Death Punch and Rage Against the Machine have had, combined.
Just because YOU haven't heard of an act doesn't make the quiz takers "cult band followers." Hell, of the acts I listed, I've only heard the music of one of them (RATM) and only knew one other (BRMC) by reputation. The other two, I only got because I guessed them.
Sep 9th, 2012 at 10:47 GMT
Rage Against The Machine had a No 1 hit in the UK in 2009. :-)
Sep 9th, 2012 at 11:15 GMT
Whose version of Rage Against The Machine's "Killing in the name of" would you rather hear - Alvin and the Chipmunks or Peter, Paul and Mary?
Sep 9th, 2012 at 13:51 GMT
I cannot believe that the least guessed answer is my favorite band on the list. Old Crow Medicine Show is amazing (assuming you like bluegrass/traditional American folk, I guess).
Sep 10th, 2012 at 18:27 GMT
Not sure which fumblefinger was worse: "Hottie and the Blowfish" or "A Taste of Hiney". :D 5 globes!
Sep 10th, 2012 at 22:34 GMT
Got them all, but a better quiz would be band names without so much "a", "the" "and" etc.
Sep 10th, 2012 at 23:02 GMT
Buena Vista Social Club!
Sep 12th, 2012 at 14:16 GMT
Everything and a Blowfish is my new favourite band name
Sep 13th, 2012 at 10:50 GMT
What, no Godspeed! You Black Emperor????
Sep 14th, 2012 at 14:19 GMT
Statto2, the Chipmunks covering Killing in the Name Of is something that must happen. The idea of Alvin singing "Now you do what they told ya" is just too delectable.
Apr 30th, 2013 at 08:15 GMT
His Name Is Alive would've been good in there.
