Don't you hate it when you finally think of a real anagram only to find out that it's the original word?

I think 'easer' (for 'saree') and 'thogs' (for 'goths') are both real words and should be accepted.

interestingly, I find that if I look away from the clue word, the answer comes quickly, if I stare at the clue word, I usually don't get anywhere. Is my brain weird or what??

@Thor: You're right, it is. But since it isn't an anagram of any of the quiz words, I'm not sure why you feel inclined to point it out.

@Thor: Except "slews" isn't an anagram of "wells".
@Tesco: Amory is a girl's name, and I don't think they accept proper nouns.
@Beerslay: "Thog" is a Scottish verb, past tense, meaning lifted or erected. You can't combine that with an "s", but, yeah, "easer" should work.

In view of the continued economic situation in Europe, am I reading too much into the answers 'erase' and 'debit' next to each other...?!

@rockgolf: You're right about 'thog', but I've used the term to refer to a type of sandal (and no, I don't mean 'thong' or 'clog', although maybe I've made my own portmanteau without realizing it... :) When it gets warm out, I put on a pair of thogs and go outside. But I can't find it in any online dictionary I've checked, so I'll defer to your judgment.

@beerslayer and @rockgolf Thanks for noticing that. We looked into it, and agree that easer is a word, so we have removed 'saree' from the quiz. Mucho gracias.

May be the only time "boner" is used here as an answer, without censors.

I guess no matter how many times I try to enter it, "misto" isn't an English word...
