So its economical influence, and not political? You should specify that.. Still it's strange not to see Moscow and Beijing..

Agree with bart122333: You need to make it clear that these are the cities that Mastercard deems most influential in driving the global economy. Otherwise, nice quiz.

BTW, I'm from Philly and would never have guessed it would have ranked up there.

As a list it sucks, it just so happens that most of these cities are where major banks have their headquarters. How can Seattle the home of Microsoft for instance not appear on the list, financially maybe not as influential as other cities, but it terms of the global impact how many business computers around the world are running Microsoft applications?

I would find it hard to believe that Vancouver and Edinburgh would place over Moscow.

It's obviously driven by credit card transactions ..... which is certainly not a good measure of influence. There is no way that Edinburgh is more influential than Istanbul, Moscow or Beijing.

Interesting quiz; I think changing the title to more accurately reflect what the source is measuring would address most of the issues other commenters are raising...

How is Vatican City not on here? One guy there influences millions of lives every time he speaks!

Just change the title to make it more accurate and avoid stupid comments like penguinman's or foyherald's. Also @springybawb if you actually looked at the source, the ranking has nothing to do with credit card transactions, but rather a ridiculous number of different economic, social, and political factors. If it were based on credit card transactions, the list would reflect population and mostly be made up of cities in the U.S.

I agree with rodtig. It's a good quiz, but the Master Card list is made up of cities that are major influential centers of finance and commerce. Not culture and politics. That is why cities like Moscow and Washington D.C aren't included.

This is so nauseatingly Euro/North-centric... I dare say that cities like Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Cape Town, Mumbai, Lagos, Jakarta, Bangkok, etc. are just as influential. There's MUCH more to "influence" than money.

It seems quite dubious to me that Prague would be more influential than Moscow, Beijing, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Istanbul, and Buenos Aires in any way... so this is a quite stupid list.
