	Funny quiz. Being french, I totally missed Laos which is pronounced in two syllables la-os in my own language.

	Redsxfenway: I'm not sure how you've been pronouncing it, but the correct pronounciation in english has one syllable. It is most commonly said with either a soft or a silent "s".

	@shawnkay: Neat idea! Listing a source might clear up some of the debate over how many syllables there are in "Laos." Merriam-Webster.com indicates that it can be pronounced three ways. One of the three has one syllable, which would make it a valid inclusion.

	Great quiz! I'd never thought about how few one-syllable countries there were. Only came up with 3/5 (and I did get Laos!).

	When I was in Laos, they said it as if it were "Lao". It's actually the "Lao people's democratic republic", plus the S was only added when it was French indo-china and the French tacked on the silent S) In my experience here, it has always been said as "Lao" or like "Louse" (which is one syllable), and never Laah-Oss.

	Not to beat a dead horse, but my college roommate was from Laos and she pronounced it with one syllable. I'd say she's a pretty reliable source. ;)

	Nice quiz. Reminds me of a time when I was staying with friends in Germany, and for some reason Ukraine came into the conversation but I couldn't make myself understood. Eventually my German pal caught on, saying "Yooh-crane? Aaaah! You mean Ooh-crah-eeee-nah!"

	Like Pienet, I'm French and couldn't think of Laos as one syllable. I'm quite glad I found the other ones though. At first I couldn't think of any.

	I too am surprised at Greece being bottom (it was the second one I though of, after Spain) and the debate about how many syllables there are in Laos (I've only heard it with one). Completely missed Chad though.
