| Sweden have actually launched several hundreds of objects into space. The Swedish rocket range Esrange have been managed by the Swedish equivalent to Nasa since 1972, but more than 150 rockets were sent prior to that. The latest one was launched in February 2008 and more are planned.
It is reserved for launching scientific equipment and studies of the ozone layer and aurora borealis, which is logical considering it is located far north of the Arctic Circle. No launches have, however, been made to place anything in orbit. |
