| Umm, "stationary" is an adjective as in "a stationary bicycle"; "stationery" is a noun as in "letterhead stationery". Also, if "acity" and "ity" are really distinct suffixes, then so are "ation", "tion", "sion", "xion", "cion", etc. Finally, the title seems to imply that these are the only eleven noun suffixes, but that's certainly not true. What about "ist" as in "publicist", "cellist", "dentist", etc.? Or "er" as in "manager", "bugler", and "digger" ... or "or" as in "competitor", "visitor", and "traitor". Etc., etc. |
