Mediterranean Sea, not Sean. Also, since you accept Atlantic, Pacific, etc, you should accept Mediterranean and Caribbean.

Could you possibly accept Baykal for Lake Baikal? The latter is probably more common but I've seen it spelled both ways. Great quiz.

these lists weren't exactly that original, and I feel like this has been done by those geography grab bag games

1) Please list a source. 2) Including some numbers (which appear after you answer) would be nice. I think these lists are wrong - the European cities for example. Are you including cities proper or metro area? If you could include the numbers it'd clear this up.

1) I got it from mostly Wikipedia, but also a couple other random sites. 2) good idea. 3) City limits only. You missed the part at the top where I specified that.

Lake Malawi (and Malawi) should be accepted for Lake Nyasa, because it's accepted on the published bodies of water quiz too.

How does Beijing not make the Asian list?

City limits only. Beijing has a large metropolitan area, but not as many live within the city.

Istanbul should also be counted as a European city, since it lies in both Europe and Asia.
