I'd recommend that you have to answer each one in order. Interesting bunch of examples, though, esecially Papua New Guinea!

I think you should have us answer in order, otherwise someone could just randomly name countries. ...Not that 'I' would ever think of doing such a thing. Also, maybe add more?

also, Portugal should be accepted for Indonesia as well, Italy for Eritrea, and Spain for the Philippines.

Good quiz! I agree with the others that it would be better if we had to answer in order.

I'm not sure it's right to describe Ethiopia or Indonesia as colonial powers.

Thanks for the feedback, all -- this is my first contribution, so I'm still learning. I've changed the title (you're right, Ethiopia is hardly a colonial power!), and made it be answered in order. And it should take UK now.

Oh, and Azrael -- I specifically chose the wording so that it's the country from which the specified country actually gained independence, rather than any country that had previously ruled it.

The column is still called Colonial country, which ethiopia indonesia and australia aren't. Also, romania is a bit strange. Romania didn't exist back then, it was two principalities. Which united into Romania later.
