good quiz, but didn't accept just "Citi" for the Mets, I missed it. Would be OK if just "yankee", "fenway" and "phillies" weren't accepted, among others.

this should be a guess in order game, and you have to name the ballpark, not the team
Sep 28th, 2011 at 06:02 GMT
i'd also cut the time down a bit cuz its easy to just guess all the teams
Sep 28th, 2011 at 06:11 GMT
Little issue: Anaheim is misspelled. Other than that, I like it. This doesn't need to be a guess-in-order quiz, although you should consider doing one that has all 30 stadiums ranked by percentage that is guess-in-order. That'd be interesting when you'd get to the bottom, trying to figure out whether the Royals fans or Marlins fans were more apathetic...

Fun quiz. But please fix the spelling of my beloved "Detorit" Tigers.

Props to Cubs and Twins fans, your teams were pathetic but you still showed up, I respect that.

Target Field is still new...It'll regularly be half empty within a few years.

@bmo1616..Regarding the cubs, it's a well-known criticism of cubs fans (in Chicago, at least) that the fans will always show up no matter how bad the team is because of the party-like atmosphere at Wrigley, in which the actual game takes a backseat. The criticism is that as long as fans keep showing up to watch bad baseball, upper management doesn't have to worry as much about spending money to improve the team.

It accepted the city name for every team except the 100% team.

good quiz. think about accepting "Citi" and "ATT"?
Oct 15th, 2011 at 17:41 GMT
Citi Field is always empty when I'm there. I'm suprised to see it on here, considering sometimes the attendance can dip under 10,000

Fun quiz! ... although it was more a test of how fast I could think of and type MLB team names. (I did a lot of guessing. lol)
Oct 15th, 2011 at 19:22 GMT
Either this should be called "Top MLB Teams by Attendance" or city and team names shouldn't be accepted. It'd be harder (and IMO more fun) if you had to come up with stadium names.
Oct 15th, 2011 at 23:28 GMT
Dumb how you it accepts team names, I didn't even know that until I read the comments. And why didn't "Citi" work but "Citizens Bank" (no apostrophe) works? That's the only one I missed because I assumed it was a wrong answer when I typed it

The Twins have a woeful season yet still pack 99.5% capacity.
Oct 16th, 2011 at 02:13 GMT
i was hoping the Marlins would be some sort of bonus, im pretty sure if you sit in the outfield at that stadium youre almost gauranteed to have a souvenir home run ball.
Oct 16th, 2011 at 03:25 GMT
Agreed that it should only be stadium names accepted. For a baseball fan, it's easy enough to just type every team.
Oct 16th, 2011 at 03:35 GMT
Cub fans can keep packing Wrigley, but that won't help in the standings.
Oct 16th, 2011 at 06:48 GMT
AcidJazz00: The lowest attendance at Citi this year was 21,015. That's paid attendance, though, not turnstile count - I'm sure it can look pretty empty on a cold, rainy spring weeknight.
Oct 16th, 2011 at 17:57 GMT
I don't get it, how would you sell more than 100%?
Oct 16th, 2011 at 19:50 GMT
More than 100% means they sell all seats plus standing room. Citi Field's attendance was down, but the Mets are always up there in attendance- huge market. Good article on the situation: http://burnspear.blogspot.com/2011/06/real-surprise-people-are-going-to-mets.html I see there are a range of suggestions. Some of you want abbreviated team names. Some want more abbreviated stadium names. Some want no team names at all. I'm definitely keeping team names. I will not abbreviate Citi Field to Citi or At&T to ATT. Don't be lazy now. I will, however, make sure all city names are accepted.
Oct 17th, 2011 at 01:15 GMT
As Irving noted, keep in mind the stadiums may well have been much less crowded than this- this is for tickets sold not people who attended.

i think it'd be better test, if you had to name them in order. as it is, its just a typing test
Oct 20th, 2011 at 03:22 GMT
I was fine with it accepting stadium, team, and city. I didn't just sit and type in names. I actually thought about which teams draw crowds. I knew my team (Arizona) would not be on here. I knew the Dodgers would not, due to McCourt. I know San Diego, Houston, Pittsburgh, Seattle, and Kansas City would not because they're either bad this year or historically bad. I know neither Florida team draws well, so they were out. I know the Braves don't draw, so they were out. I know the A's are talking about relocation, so they were out. I know that baseball doesn't draw well in Canada, so the Blue Jays were out. Maybe some people took the "easy" way out by just typing in random teams. That doesn't mean everyone did.

@GeoExpert: Minnesota just opened Target Field in 2010. Usually takes more than one season for the new park smell to wear off. Unless you're in Florida, their new park smell next year will probably wear off in about three weeks.
Feb 16th, 2012 at 03:31 GMT
att and citi should be accepted
Sep 2nd, 2012 at 15:31 GMT
My Mets actually drew 2 million plus people, Gasp! I'm suprised Washington didn't draw more actually...
Sep 2nd, 2012 at 18:31 GMT
Attendance is generally reported by raw numbers, not % of capacity. Even with all the Frank McCourt awfulness going on, the Dodgers still drew 2.9 million last year.

I went through this quiz guessing stadium names, and then found out that team names were accepted about 20 seconds before the end. Cue mad team naming rush. >.>
