Man, a couple of those letters are brutal. Was surprised not to get Bonds for B, then thought "Oh, of course - Brett." Then thought maybe Johnny Bench? Idiotic not to think of Berra, of course. R is also tough with Pete Rose and Brooks Robinson in the top 12 all-time.

The letter "I" was tough. Was relieved (hint) to find that my inability to spell Incaviglia's name didn't matter.

Couldn't figure out how he spelled his name, and you wouldn't take Quiz... Also, Graig Nettles played in 6 all star games

Stan Musial went to 24 all star games, NOT 20.

3.5% thought "Mo" instead of "Arky", then tried to add an A. 0.1% are related to Arky. :)

@olipoo is right, but I think the problem is the column header. Instead of saying "# of appearances," it should say "# of seasons." There were a few years in there in which two all star games were played. Musial was an all-star in 20 seasons.

It does seem that ‘appearances’ was not the best term to use — and that a better distinction involving ‘years’ vs. ‘appearances’ vs. ‘selections’ should be made (i.e., what if a player is selected for the team but doesn’t appear in the game — or even at the game—as with Jeter last year?). For ‘H,’ Ellie Howard really has the most selections, with 12, even if those were over 9 years.

I kept trying the greats: Jordan, Malone, Chamberlain, Malone, Russell... After several minutes of that, I couldn't believe I still had scored a whopping zero. Then, as I was looking around in frustration...
Yes, I know this will be news to everyone, but it turns out those guys didn't make the
baseball
All Star Game.

I guess the moral of the story I learned from this is that if your surname begins with an "I," press your sons to be baseball players, as they have a really good shot of showing up on this quiz one day. I'm also really shocked not to see the names of Robin Yount, Carlton Fisk and Ryne Sandberg on this. But given whom Yount and Sandberg were competing against, I s'pose I really shouldn't be. A really nice quiz, man.
