Dude...love it...looking forward to the three other acting categories. But since it appears you are alphabetizing the answers by first name, then the first answer on the list is misplaced.

This is so fantastic, maybe even one of my favorite of your quizzes.

@colraphobic123 & domotime2 (which sounds like a halftime score in some anime that I'm too old to follow): I've now added randomization of answers, as I had intended. But alphabetical order made it a lot easier to quality check. Thanks.

Oh, and the reason one is out of place is because once you hit a bomb, you lose credit for that actor. I didn't want people making comments that "I can't believe that only 3% got
[insert major star's name here}
, so I replaced it with one of the lowest responses on the original "Best Actors" quiz on Sporcle.

@DarkPhalanx: Thanks. I used the "Advanced features" option on Wordle.com to get the look.

I don't quite get this. Are we just supposed to copy the names in the picture? That's not very challenging...

75/75! Now to do the actresses quiz. I love these minefields quizzes.

I can't believe Nic Cage has an Oscar, but Leo doesn't. What a shame!

I know we all hate comments about the timer, but.....15 minutes?!?! I think 5 would suffice as we are not typing in 75 names.

There were way too many correct answers in such a small pool of choices. Made guessing a lot easier.

This became much easier when I realized that any name I didn't recognize was probably a winner.

"Well, there's no way Nicolas Cage has an Oscar." ...well played, Mr. Cage. Well played.

For those wondering about the archived comments, this quiz was written before minefield formats existed, so I created a picture/poster (on Wordle.com) listing all the names. To play you had to enter the names from the picture (hence the extra time). I recently switched it to minefield format, because it makes it more fun to play than having to do a lot of typing.

It's not a minefield! I went very slowly trying to get as many as possible before blowing myself up -- I was surprised to discover that I could have guessed quicker, because getting one wrong does not end the game. Extremely misleading description!

Note to self: Colin Firth has an Oscar, and Colin Farrel did not even appear on the list. I don't know why I read it that way.

I think Leo Dicaprio has one of the lowest Win-Nomination Ratios in the history of acting

@DoggieLover: Hardly. DiCaprio's only had 3 nominations. There are eight actors and actresses with at least
5
nominations and no wins. See yesterday's quiz

So basically click on the people you've never heard of because there's no other reason they'd be here. Thank you very much, Misters Schell, Donat, Jannings, and Baxter. Did Pacino win Best Actor for Scent of a Woman? I thought he was a supporting actor in that. Oh well.

I couldn't believe that Peter O'Toole, Richard Burton and Albert Finney weren't winners! That completely flummoxed me...especially the first two!

@jonski: Peter O'Toole is actually the record holder for most nominations without winning. Scandalous.

Now that the major wave of plays is over, I'm returning this game to a minefield - that is, picking a non-winner ends the game. If you prefer the minefield format, vote this comment up. If you hate it, vote it down. Majority after 24 hours, rules.

Critical problem: the results don't show correct answers. That's extremely arrogant and rude. Major problem: minefield style, i.e. not allowing us to play the full game. Minor problem: the names are not in alphabetical order, even though that would make a lot of sense.
