Misspelled Allison Iraheta and Katharine McPhee. Also, I'm going to nitpick at your wording. There are many more ways to count success. Constantine Maroulis has had a very successful career on Broadway and was nominated for a Tony Award last year. I'd say that Jennifer Hudson's Oscar makes her one of the most successful Idol contestants, well above Jordin Sparks. Maybe you should specify success in the music industry, although that's still debatable.

rine corrected. I understand your other point, but such results are empirically impossible to measure, and not the basis that Billboard used. How many airplays is an Oscar worth? Should Constantine get credit for Rock Of Ages soundtrack sales? And there's only so much room in the title.

If you count cheeseball soap opera appearances, Constantine would rule this quiz.

Yeah, what's up with Fantasia not having a last name...? Oh, and it's spelled Elliott. With two t's.

Only one I missed was Danny Gokey (eh, who cares?). Don't know whether I should be proud of myself or should start thinking about an intervention...

Kelly Clarkson's on The Voice, Clay Aiken is on Celebrity Apprentice and Katharine McPhee is on Glee.
This isn't an Idol list, it's the NBC Spring 2012 line-up.

The measure they use (Albums+Tracks+Radio Plays) is bizarre. Feels like having 500,000 people buy the album should count more than having 300,000 people each decide to download two tracks each from the album...
For the curious, there's a table focusing only on album sales (and updated to include the last two years worth of contestants) at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Idol_alumni_album_sales

Good quiz. I don't think I ever would have guessed William Hung because I didn't think he was a contestant (as the quiz question is asking for); I thought he only auditioned. I know it's not your list, it's Billboard's. But an asterisk for that spot with a note that the person was not an actual contestant would have been helpful. :)

@Gurl94: Yes, I did, so here's the correct version.
Kelly Clarkson's on The Voice, Clay Aiken is on Celebrity Apprentice and Katharine McPhee is on Smash. This isn't an Idol list, it's the NBC Spring 2012 line-up.

I'm surprised Mandisa isn't on the list - she's a very successful gospel singer, but maybe there's just not a large enough market there.

Actually, Billboard's list was updated the week before this quiz was published with a list addressing both the weighting and recency concerns. Someone from season 9's on there at #24, but it's not Lee.
