Can you name the big 4 (NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB) sports team from a single letter in their logo?
created by
rockgolf
Enter a team in the box below
Correctly named teams will show up below
There is no professional big four sports team in North America with "Q" in the team name. At least not until the Nordiques reform.

Special shout out to my daughter Erin, who took really cruddy looking artwork on this and made it look decent. Thanks, honey. High five!!

11 football, 4 baseball, 5 hockey, 5 basketball, maybe take some of the football ones out and put the other 3 sports in to balance it out.

Y'know, mikehock9, if your comment was lucid instead of lame, neanderthal and self-contradictory, I'd might bother to be offended.

Wouldn't take blue jays, wouldn't take chiefs, wouldn't take vikings - then I quit.

@RobR: Were you on the right letter? You have to answer in order or click on the clue you want to answer. Otherwise players could just enter random team names and stand a chance of getting the answer.

Feel bad about missing the Jaguars. Don't watch enough hockey, so I missed Penguins and Coyotes. But that blue doesn't look dark enough to be Dodger blue, so I missed that one too.

I think the problem with the Hurricanes logo letter (i.e. 2.8%) is that they don't generally use a logo with lettering. It's usually just a hurricane graphic or a flag on a hockey stick. There may be a better substitute for that letter. Overall awesome quiz though!

By the way, rockgolf, I just noticed that for all the many quizzes you've published, your first one just passed the 100,000 mark a few days ago. That surprises me.

I didn't realize how similar Lakers and the Vikings were- yellow with purple vs purple with yellow Nucleolus- judging by your icon it is no wonder why this quiz caught your attention ;) Solid job as always rockgolf, I hope to be like you when I grow up

some of the logos are really outdated or not logos at all (Jays; that's just how they spelled it on their really early jerseys.)

@hibernia: I used the most recent "script" logos available for every team except the Blue Jays. The current logo has the bird sticking its head out behind the logo and would have made it just too obvious.

Cool quiz, harder than I thought it would be. That's actually an outdated logo for the Jaguars, but good quiz anyway.

maybe add Nordiques so you get a Q and use an asterisk that it was a former team name?

I do reference the Nords in the notes at the top of the page. There are rumors that one of the less successful US franchises may move to Quebec and restore the name. Of course the question then becomes what do I do with the 5x5 grid?

The colors are off on a bit of them, which makes it needlessly hard. The Coyotes and Hurricanes both look blue (instead of black).

Like TheRealHeel said, the Hurricanes letter could maybe be changed. The lettering is not part of their logo and is not found on the uniforms anywhere either. I am a huge hockey fan and had never seen Hurricanes lettering before until I looked it up after the quiz, so it is quite rare, I'm not sure if it is even official. Other than that it was a great quiz!

If this quiz gets over 7,000 plays, I'll reach 3 million plays on front-page quizzes. I hope you've enjoyed playing my quizzes as much as I've enjoyed writing them.
Excelsior!
