Nice idea for a quiz. Might be better with a line from each song though. (Maybe use a subset of these.) The color scheme is very Bowie-esque as well!

Thanks. I usually try to have a color scheme that fits the quiz. For this one I used the colors for the letters on the Ziggy Stardust cover.

Love the color scheme, especially the idea behind it, although it is a little blinding at first. Nice quiz though!

By the way, the US songs all made the top 20 on either the Hot 100, or Mainstream Rock or Modern Rock charts. We are still waiting for Bowie to make the top 20 on the Country charts.

I feel like I would like this better if US and UK were organized into separate columns. Other than that, it's a cool idea.

@Annie: It certainly would, but that would take administrator intervention. I can't control that, but I've requested it.

A whole lot of songs here that I didn't know, and I was shocked not to see Suffragette City.

Great quiz! I was kicking myself over some that I missed. The color scheme is a bit blinding though, but I appreciate the Ziggy-esque sentiment. Perhaps you could also note what number each song reached on the charts? And maybe it would be better to do alphabetical instead of by year? (matter of preference, I guess)

America really loved Bowies 80's MOR phase.

Surprised that Changes and Ziggy Stardust didn't chart that high.

What shocks me is that no one has yet been able to identify Bowie's Christmas Classic - there are alternatives that match just the separate titles, so it's not impossible.

also kind of ironic that "young americans" charted in the UK but not in the US

His duet with Jagger on "Dancing in the Street" is quite possibly the worst song ever recorded.

I did embarassingly bad on this haha. But I tend to like all the songs that no ones ever heard of. Got the Laughing Gnome though, that makes me happy.

how is "changes" not anywhere on this. That has to be in Bowie's top 5 most popular songs.

I agree with everyone who mentioned "Changes." Surprised "Heroes" isn't on either list too.

@zertrudetrout: Bowie only had 5 top 20 hits in the 80s on the Hot 100. The rest were on the Mainstream Rock chart. @marpocky and @biskutt: Ziggy Stardust was not released as a single.

Maybe Changes has become more popular over time. You know, things ch-ch-change!

That American column seriously depresses me. I'm a Bowie fanatic and I only got over 50% of these.

I pretty much blanked on all of the 80's. Oh well.

I really hoped for Heroes, Changes and Suffragette City too. I didn't get many of these...most of my favourites are ones that people don't seem to know.
