Unfortunately, I added to the long bar on the bottom of the graph. This is the kind of quiz that makes me think, "How do people know this stuff?" I'm in awe of the folks that scored way up there.

I'm wondering how necessary the long time limit is. Although I suppose the answer is dependent on whether or not you're looking for a you-know-it-or-you-don't quiz or one where you have time to guess at the ones you don't know. In any case, I do really enjoy this quiz and am wondering if you've made others for other sports?

Good quiz... but three minutes should be taken off the time limit at least
Jan 8th, 2011 at 04:54 GMT
@Googlebird: I'd be in that group myself. But I realized that the only quiz I've written that's close to 200,000 plays is a Sports quiz - one each letter of the alphabet snipped out of sports logos. I realized I had to come up with a sequel. Well, I thought, I've used letters: Could I use numbers? I thought of trying to get uniforms with specific retired numbers for several teams, but couldn't find pictures of the back of those uniforms. (If any sports maniac wants to use that idea, be my guest.)
But in trying to find the pictures I realized how subtle the differences in some baseball home uniform are. Originally I was going to use trouser colors, (with the title "Baseball's pants!") but the uniform backs provide just enough info to make it a challenge that at least sports addicts should enjoy it.

the time limit?!? I originally thought it would need 15 minutes, then dropped it to 8. Should I drop to 5 minutes? If yes, vote this comment up.
Jan 8th, 2011 at 05:13 GMT
Yes, drop the time limit to five minutes at the most. I was able to complete this quiz in slightly under a minute.

By the way, what are the symbols supposed to mean at the end of the title? Are the single parentheses and 'O' really necessary?
Jan 8th, 2011 at 05:28 GMT
@GeoExpert: Necessary? No, it's just a little trademark of mine to use characters to symbolize some aspect of the quiz. In this case it's meant to represent a baseball being thrown. My movie quizzed often have a simulation of a projector, music quizzes have notes.

Five minutes is fine. Anyone that watches baseball shouldn't have much of a problem with this, you pretty much know most of them or you don't. Good quiz

Nice quiz, rockgolf! Only problem I had was on some of the jerseys, I can see the logo on the sleeve. (Reds, for instance)
Jan 8th, 2011 at 16:37 GMT
@RaysRule2010: I realize some have partial symbols, but I wanted to keep the images clean and accurate. And if you can interpret those 16 pixels as the Reds logo, a) you deserve the point, and b) you probably would've got it anyhow.
Jan 8th, 2011 at 16:45 GMT
@rockgolf: I probably
have gotten it. (No offense to those who
get it). Besides, only half the logo is shown anyway. Some
the logo I didn't get!
Jan 8th, 2011 at 19:04 GMT
@rockgolf good quiz, gave it a 5/5 timing is fine as it is.
Jan 9th, 2011 at 00:54 GMT
The timing is fine, although having to scroll up and down made this a bit of a pain. I found myself looking at the wrong column several times. I kind of wish it went left to right in rows so that once you finished the second row, you would not have to scroll any more.

Very fun quiz, and I would definitely like to see sequels for other sports!

Awesome quiz. The sleeve patch gives it away for a lot of teams but still fun!
Sep 27th, 2011 at 08:27 GMT
The sleeve patch is part of the uniform, but I feel you. Great quiz. I think the time is pretty good where it's at.

Surprised the Tigers jersey got so little action. It's a classicly clean, simplistic jersey, and I thought the Navy and White wouldn't be too hard to pick up. Same with the White Sox; I know a hand full of teams have pinstripes, but the minimalist jersey with the black and white seemed to be pretty straightforward.

RIP the Marlins ident :(
Mar 15th, 2012 at 23:20 GMT
I've finally been able to convert this to a picture quiz, and to test the Sports fanatics who know this stuff inside & out, I've reduced the time to a mere 4 minutes. (40% were getting everything in 5 minutes.)
Mar 16th, 2012 at 04:23 GMT
Marlins and Blue Jays have both rebranded since. :/
Mar 16th, 2012 at 04:48 GMT
@Ronaldingo: Thanks. I've now updated those uniforms.

Surprisingly tough. I'm a casual baseball fan and had a tough time with a number of them.

Jays' new (old-style) unis are awesome.
