In the year 2000, the RIAA and the National Endowment for the Arts released a list of 365 "Songs of the Century".
Obviously, that's too long for a single Sporcle list, and frankly I think there'd be minimum interest in the songs from, say, 1890-1920. Although, mind you, the songs in most cases are still familiar. You've probably heard of "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" and "Yankee Doodle", but there's no chance you've heard of Chauncey Olcott or Vess Ossman, who originally recorded those songs.
So, here's the latest installment in the series - the songs of the 1990's. (Yes, there's one from 1988 and another from 2000 -- I didn't create the list!)
To aid you a little (I hope), the songs are in alphabetical order, with leading "A" or "The" or sub-titles removed. This may aid you in at least narrowing down the first letter of the song for artists with lots of hits like Whitney, Garth Brooks, Destiny's Child or Shania.
