This quiz was written more than a year ago, and what I've learned since then is never, EVER, try to specify genres of acts. Someone will always get upset your characterization.
I tried to give hints that will help most people, but for fans of that genre, a broad brushstroke is never sufficient. Sure, to AC/DC fans there's a universe of difference between that band's music and Nickelback's. But I promise you, 9 out of 10 average people would not recognize any substantial stylistic difference between say, "Burn It To the Ground" by Nickelback and "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC. The man (or woman) on the street would call both of them Hard Rock.
If there were enough clasical purists, I'm sure they'd have an equally valid arguement the Trans-Siberian Orchestra should under no circumstances be defined as "Classical". And there's probably a whole group of people who would be up in arms that I dared to call Taylor Swift "country".
Nonetheless, that's how most people see those acts. |
