I wonder what a certain someone will say about this quiz, especially because of the title. You didn't mean that did you rockgolf? Actually it's a pretty good quiz, as usual, and the video would have been enjoyable in and of itself, though I'd have forced order. I couldn't resist typing in ones I knew would be there, but I'd have rather seen the image first. And that was a dumb question--of course you meant that.

wot the hell wheres zoolandr whats wrong with u
No, wait, what I meant is: forced-order isn't a bad idea, since I filled in seven of the top ten before getting past #15. But also, why are we looking at these images in black-and-white, even for the color movies?

@Talman: "Artistic" decision on the B&W thing. It looked jarring than bouncing back & forth. Also made a couple of the pictures less gross. And there's room for sequels. I found a list of the top 9,331 English language 20th century full-length non-fiction films of all time.

Surprised at the inclusion of How Green Was My Valley. Most people know it as the film that beat Citizen Kane (and The Maltese Falcon) for Best Picture at the 1942 Oscars.

Awesome quiz. Very enjoyable. It was like watching the Oscars when they show one of their montages. And the music really added to the "show". :)

MovieDynamic may have the lowest comment scores in the history of this website, but I can pretty well guarantee you that he's the only person to have a published quiz named in his honor. MovieDynamic--I salute you (I'd salute you too, Rockgolf, but you get that enough).

Holy crap, someone needs to get this guy a DVD player. What, 2-3 movies made since 1980? Not to mention not a single movie choice that suggests some sort of PERSONAL taste as opposed to being handed the list by some 1st year film class (in which case you're missing the obligatory Kurisawa and Ingmar Bergman entry). But taste aside this is a great quiz which must have taken a lot of work.

I'm very surprised with my score. I got 32 out of 50, even though I've only seen three of these movies in their entirety, and only seen brief parts a few of the others. Those are definitely some iconic choices.

Interesting that shanekelby thought Cabaret was Blazing Saddles. I thought that The Searchers was Blazing Saddles because it kind of looked like Cleavon Little in that pic. Although I couldn't remember Sheriff Bart using a rifle like that. Also, you should fix it so Godfather II is accepted for Godfather Part II

I think the background music is the Schindler's List Theme. Could you maybe accept "Godfather II"?

Holy hell. This guy is insane. Look at the source (Brad BourlandĪs 9,200 Best Movies List). Look at the list and read his intro. This guy spent thousands of hours over 8 years on this, traveling to different states and watching thousands of movies in his attempt to classify and rank every English language movie based on an accumulation of sources and research. This guy needs a psychiatrist.

The background music was a little depressing. It felt like I was watching one of those In Memoriam montages they play at the Oscars.

Why did you choose the theme from Schindler's List? So depressing. You could have definitely chose a better song.

You, sir (or madam), have great taste in movies--well, other than #9, which has got to be the most overrated movie ever. Terrific quiz, even if I only got 49 out of 50 because I couldn't come up with How Green Was My Valley. And for the record, I liked the use of the music from Schindler's List.

I missed A Man For All Seasons and All Quiet on The Western Front. F'ing Thomas More and German WWI vets. I'm glad Thomas Cromwell and the Allies owned you, respectively! (Relax German WWI vets, I'm kidding. But not about Thomas More.)
