Specifically, from the period Dec 1, 2009 to Dec 1, 2010 on the Hot 100 chart, which in turn is determined by a combination of sales and airplay. So, yes, in many cases the songs were released in late 2009 and stayed on the charts for a good long part of this year. Because radio stations keep playing songs longer, they stay on the charts longer and older tracks tend to dominate the year-end lists. |
