GREAT QUIZ!! I've enjoyed playing it. Only.. "Two Loves" is from 2008 and its "Gomorra"
Dec 27th, 2009 at 23:13 GMT
Since 9 and Nine are two different movies, you shouldn't have it accept both with one answer. Also, I would suggest setting up the quiz to accept single character answers for 9. (Otherwise you have to enter a space to get it to accept 9.)

@hvdm: I suspect the guy who made the clip was Dutch, and used films released in the Netherlands in 2008. "Revolutionary Road" was also a 2008 release in North America. I'll add the alternate spelling for Gomorra/Gomorrah. The H-less version is the original Italian title.
@james: 9 & Nine are a conundrum. I decided the quiz was tough enough without having to add both. It's now set up for single character as well.

Not your fault, but several movies are not from this year. Sunshine is even from 2007 (and the only reason I got it is because I was typing a different title). You might want to add some sort of disclaimer.
Dec 28th, 2009 at 04:08 GMT
You should really allow Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian, and just Battle of the Smithsonian.

This is a very good and enjoyable quiz idea, but I feel like it really needs a video made specifically for Sporcle (which would be a lot of work, I know). The constant repeats of some of the movies get really frustrating, especially when other movies only appear for a very, very short time.
Dec 28th, 2009 at 14:22 GMT
Out of the 138 I've only seen 15 of these (so far), which makes me wonder what I've been doing all year.
Dec 28th, 2009 at 14:51 GMT
@rockgolf: it is indeed very likely that this is a dutch clip because "oorlogswinter" (aka "Winter in Wartime") is a dutch movie
Dec 28th, 2009 at 16:28 GMT
Out of the ones I got, I think I saw maybe 20 of them. How is that possible?
Dec 28th, 2009 at 17:56 GMT
I think this is a really cool quiz but I really dislike the repetition certain movies got. Plujan pretty much said it best - equal coverage for all movies. I didn't even see the District 9 clip and I saw it in theaters.
Dec 29th, 2009 at 15:53 GMT
I'm fairly certain I saw clips from Orphan in that movie but it's not an answer to the quiz.
Dec 30th, 2009 at 16:25 GMT
@numbnick: Unlikely. The clip creator indicated in his comments that he intentionally avoided horror films. No idea why he skipped The Hangover.
Dec 31st, 2009 at 05:30 GMT
yea how do u not have The Hangover for movies in 2009 lol
Jan 2nd, 2010 at 21:18 GMT
what happened to underworld 2?
Jan 2nd, 2010 at 21:23 GMT
you should accept "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" i couldn't figure out what was wrong, i didn't think about making doctor -> dr.
Jan 3rd, 2010 at 03:56 GMT
why is underworld on there? The Hangover was a big miss...
Jan 3rd, 2010 at 07:22 GMT
good quiz! I believe i've seen pretty much zero of these, but I still managed to get 50 or so. What movie is the one with the girl falling on the messy matress? I chuckled. I then felt embarrassed for chuckling.
Jan 6th, 2010 at 13:11 GMT
@Sexualdemocracy: The film is Sunshine Cleaning. What makes the clip even funnier is that the ladies specialize in cleaning up gory crime scenes. That mattress was probably covered with a giant bloodstain.
Jan 16th, 2010 at 21:08 GMT
rockgolf, you seriously make the best quizzes. hahahaha.
Jan 20th, 2010 at 23:31 GMT
I got 70, I'm so proud!! Haha not really, but a very fun quiz rockgolf, release year differences definitely not your fault.
Feb 3rd, 2010 at 21:05 GMT
Sunshine happens to be one of my favorite movies, and it came out in 2007 (in all countries) and there was nothing in the video for it. I believe it is a typo for Sunshine Cleaning, just an fyi.
Feb 27th, 2010 at 15:40 GMT
Sunshine Cleaning and Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans shouldn't be on here twice.
Apr 24th, 2010 at 19:10 GMT
is there anyway anyone could list what these movies are in order of the appearance of the video?
May 15th, 2010 at 15:25 GMT
If he skipped horror movies why is Antichrist on here?
Jun 22nd, 2010 at 11:08 GMT
I didn't actually see a clip from nowhere boy, but I typed it in anyway because my friend's in it. Where was the clip?
Jul 18th, 2010 at 09:46 GMT
The video is really great.
Jul 31st, 2010 at 02:12 GMT
23. XD I remember most but i couldn't recall the name.
Aug 8th, 2010 at 01:50 GMT
@david_rain_fan: The Nowhere Boy clip is really quick, (6:40-6:41)
Aug 12th, 2010 at 02:01 GMT
Grrr! I must've typed "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" about ten times, and couldn't figure out what I was typing wrong. Of course, when I checked all the 100 I missed (of the 37 I got right, I've only even seen about 10, I really need to get out more!), you had it as "Dr." *facepalm* I know it was dumb of me, but still, the proper title of the film has the word spelled out as "Doctor." :( Awesome quiz, though! I'd also like to see a list of titles in the order they appear in the video, if possible.
Aug 27th, 2010 at 21:05 GMT
I typed Inglorious Basterds spellt with the 'e' and it didn't come up
Oct 5th, 2010 at 01:45 GMT
the video is amazing!! i wish i had the talent to make it lol the music is great and so are all the movies included
Nov 24th, 2010 at 22:14 GMT
yeah, the video is awesome, the cuts, the music... just wonderful. i have to go back and watch lots of movies i guess...
Oct 12th, 2011 at 13:09 GMT
It's Inglorious Basterds,not Bastards.
