| The problem with arguing for Foxx/Simmons' primes, their primes don't sync up that well. Simmons' last season at a historic level was '31, followed by a few all-star type seasons. Foxx has his first monster season in '29 (although '28 was a very good season too, '31 as well for that matter, great but not historic). Gehrig's '26 is right on the borderline, but after that he and Ruth combine for historic seasons from '27 - until either '33 or '34. (Since this was just for fun, I only used OPS+ and used 150 [Eddie Murray's peak] as rough line between HoF'r and historic seasons. |
