| I understand the concept but there's just no way you can call a few of these "fluke seasons." Bonds is the perfect example, because 49 HRs is hardly a poor showing. His 73 was incredible, and obviously aided by steroids, but to expect anyone to come close to that (with or without roids) is unreasonable. Also, Bonds wasn't pitched to at all after that season, so that affected his future totals. And I agree with jaysee, there's no way the 44 HR guy from last year will be a fluke, his power is gargantuan. |
