| @xolkan: if the countries were named Congo-Brazzaville and Congo-Kinshasa (as they are in some sources) things would be easier. (By the way, the rule "if there are two countries named 'Republic of X' and 'Democratic Republic of X', the democratic one is that without the word 'democratic' in its name" works for South-North Korea and the former West-East Germany, but seemingly not for the Congos. The Republic of the Congo has the same president since 1997, so probably it isn't much more democratic than the DRC). |
