| Hi Sir/Ma'aam/Whoever you are,
Your quizzes are quite inaccurate. As an individual who has a very strong botanical interest--Hell, I'm making a living out of it, I feel that your quizzes are lacking in integrity. I know for a fact that Osage Orange is not "MADURA pomifera" but in fact "MACLURA pomifera". For Yew, you used "TAXIS" when in fact, it is "TAXUS." I personally value Michael Dirr as a credible source to use for your quizzes in regards to woody plant materials for the Latin spelling, frequently used common names (not the obscure counterparts, for instance with "Beech Cockle bur", just list it as cockle bur). Sometimes I would enter in the right answer, but your quiz would not take it as an appropriate answer, even though when you click the "give up" button, it would show the exact same name.
Please rectify your quiz, so that others may not be mislead or second guess their plant knowledge.
Thanks. |
