	As best as I can tell from the source page, they are separating injuries from deaths, as the total injuries from terrorism in the US from 2000-2006 is 2386, while the number of deaths is 2990. (2902 from September 11th)

	Some unusual comments here. Who would have thought people could be so competitively patriotic about terrorism? "No, my country has had more people injured than yours!" Very odd mentality. Anyway, the source is taking an average from 2000-2006, not for one year. Excellent quiz, it's very interesting and genuinely taught me something I didn't know. Well done. It is, however, also very sad. Especially looking at Israel and Iraq.

	@Detektor - Yeah, that would be right if it was based on one year, but you also surely need to divide your numbers by 7 to average it out between 2000 and 2006.

	Interesting quiz. My patriotism works the other way around. I'm more than happy to see such a list without the UK on it (this time). On the other hand... who defines "terrorism"? For instance Zimbabwe would surely be on the list, except that most of the terrorism that they suffer from there is inflicted by their government, which probably means it doesn't count.

	@Steesh: It's "per million people", not "per million people per year", so I don't think there's division by 7. @Detektor: The source used lists the UK as having 56 fatalities and 229 injuries over 2000-2006. I guess they're using a different source for the 2005 bombing stats than you are. @reihcerm: As far as I can see, you've used the source's "injuries" totals. But it looks like those exclude fatalities, since eg the US is down for 2,990 fatalities and 2,386 injuries. It might be good either to point this out in the header, or to use the combined totals, since I for one expected "injuries" here to include deaths as well. Really interesting quiz, though - taught me a lot!

	@abanazerb: My thoughts exactly. I have a problem with what gets labeled as terrorism and what doesn't. How many people have been injured and died in Darfur? People raping, hacking off arms with machetes and burning down homes in the name of a political or ethnic cause - that's terrorism in my book.

	@bostnboy3: terrorism is typically defined as non-state sanctioned acts of political (or religious) aggression. Therefore, most of it does happen in the "middle east between "freedom hating Muslim extremists." Unfortunately, the turmoil that exists there due to the religious differences is not made up by the "American government's propaganda." People are killed and injured at very high rates in the region, and even if you think that we shouldn't criticize other's cultures and that we exhibit far too much American exceptionalism, we should not be blind to the violence that exists.

	People seem to forget how in mainly Muslim countries, how the inigenous Muslim community has suffered under the Taliban and Al Quaeda (Don't know how to spell this terroist group) and other groups. For example, Yemen (which should be on the list) is being constantly harrassed unfairly by many groups including Al Quaeda. Think about the Crusades by mainly "Christian Europe" (I use Christian and Muslim in the vague sense. Saladin and his predecessor in the millde east killed many Muslims, and the Crusaders killed many in their own lands (i.e. after the 3rd Crusade, Richard III of England fought against fellow crusader Phillip II of France). So there is not just so called fights against extremism in the US and the "West" (that is Europe), but there is extremism in the Middle East with certain Islamic Groups declaring Jihad on fellow Muslims.

	oh, I misread bostnboy3's comment. some of those are not political and thus not terrorism - I do wonder which terrorists are counted as terrorists for the purpose of the list though, which is why I mentioned Roeder.

	i dont see why people are so up in arms over the USA. multiply 8 by 300 and you get 2,400 which is the number of people that got injured. usually in terrorist attacks like that, more people die than get injured, which is exactly what happened.

	We could argue over whether fatalities should be counted and express dismay that the US gets no sympathy on this list. Or we could reflect on the fact that from 2000 to 2006 we had one 9/11, while Iraq experienced the equivalent of one every month and a half.

	1) what about India? this source gives the figure at 1.99 per million, which would translate into 2-3 thousand injuries only over these 7 years, I live in India and sad to say but this is far from reality... 2) for USA's figure 2.5k people got hurt in 9/11 but what about the soldiers who got injured in Iraq and Afghanistan? shudn't they be included as well?

	@dolby Soldiers wouldn't be included in Iraq and Afghanistan as they would be counted as casualties of war. As far as other countries not being on here that should, Somalia doesn't have much of a gov't to speak of, so there's nobody really keeping tabs of terrorism deaths and with Sudan, the Sudanese gov't is complicit in much of the terrorism there, so they wouldn't report it as terrorism, even though most of the world would likely say that it is.

	@Chris968, that is because Palestine isn't recognized as an independent country. It confuses the numbers because it is unclear if the Israel stats count for Palestine also, or if Palestine was just ignored altogether.

	if the quiz added "per capita" it would make so much more sense. Otherwise most of these comments are valid. I kinda guessed it after a few wrong guesses I knew were right by the actual quiz title.
