| Holmgren wasn't fired, he served out his contract then retired. Also, Al Groh was not fired he resigned to take a job at Virginia. Spurrier resigned as coach of the Redskins and Mike Mularkey resigned as coach of the Bills. In these cases, they were not "forced" resignations, they were separate circumstances -- no different than Bobby Petrino in Atlanta or Nick Saban in Miami. Groh's circumstance is no different that these guys.
Technically, Butch Davis resigned in Cleveland, but he probably would have been killed had he stayed much longer. This is a great quiz, but you either need to make it just coaches who were fired or include those who resigned as well. In either case, Holmgren should be removed. |
